From Frustrated to 35 Lbs Down: Sahar’s story
When I first spoke with Sahar, she had been through several years of health challenges and gradual weight gain.
Like many women, she knew what to do. She tried programs like Noom and Weight Watchers, but struggled to stay consistent on her own.
It wasn’t a lack of effort or desire. Sahar had reached a point where she simply wasn’t paying attention to her health - and deep down, she knew something needed to change.
One moment in particular was a turning point.
After avoiding her physical for far too long, Sahar finally went and saw the word “obese” written in her chart. That label hit hard.
Seeing that on paper was upsetting, but it also lit a fire. Combined with clothes that no longer fit and not feeling good about how she looked, Sahar was done accepting status quo.
Around the same time, she watched a close friend have success working with me and Sahar felt motivated in a new way.
She didn’t want another generic program. She wanted accountability, education, and support that made sense for a woman in her late 40's.
When Sahar hired me, we focused on making gradual changes over time. She learned how much protein she actually needed and how to plan for eating out instead of avoiding it.
She built simple routines:
Strength training twice a week
Walking consistently (7,500 steps was her sweet spot)
Prioritizing protein, fiber, hydration, and sleep
Creating flexibility - not perfection - into real life
As a result, Sahar lost 35 pounds in 10 months.
But what’s more powerful is that she’s been maintaining her progress for almost a year! Today, Sahar feels confident - she knows how to flex when life gets busy.
No white-knuckling it - just living a lifestyle that finally feels natural and sustainable.
When Sahar went back to the doctor, the change was so significant that the doctor asked if there was an error in her chart.
That “obese” label? Gone.
“I’m very grateful for how much I’ve improved my health, and I have so much of that to thank you for!! Thank you for being a constant cheerleader for me!! I’m so grateful.”
Sahar, I’m so proud of you! Your journey is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when the approach finally meets you where you are. You are an inspiration!
